White Winter

When I wake up in the morning,
and there's snow on the ground,
it makes me want to stay stationary.
and when I wake up in the morning,
and the sun hasn't risen,
it makes me want to go back to sleep
Well, you dreamed of a white winter,
and thats what you got.
Sometimes my heart seems to freeze over,
and it keeps me from feeling emotion.
and its times like this I wish my heart would thaw out in time for the spring.
Well, you dreamed of a white winter,
and thats what you got.
Well, you dreamed of a white winter,
and you got it believe it or not.

Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

He's the soldier at war,
wondering if he'll ever return home
from this hell he's living in
He prays everyday that this armor that he's wearing will protect him each and every battle.
He hopes to return to his kids and his wife,
and his mother that he loves so much.
He hopes to return to each of their smiling faces,
lighting up every room he's in
He's the prisoner of war,
wondering if he'll ever see the light of day again.
He's wondering if he could ever be rescued from this whole that he thinks he might die in.

You're whilting and rotting, my friend
You're roots are to shallow, and you've met your end.
It's time to say goodbye to your hollow, hollow life
You'll pass away, You'll pass away
You cannot stay here
You'll disintegrate, You'll wash away all my tears
Your leaves they flew away,
They left you too decay,
I'd say that its okay,
but we'll all pass on someday
We'll pass away, We'll pass away,
We'll leave our bodies here,
No matter how decayed, and frayed
There's left to fear, There's left to fear
We'll leave our bodies here

When I was young and still a child,
I saw the world with those big open eyes,
Now that i'm older I can see,
How shallow my brain can be.
We would walk to the park,
each moment a new adventure,
each second taking in,
the glory and the splendor.
Now that i'm older, I wish to be young.
When I was young, and still a child,
I'd see those older kids,
and I'd long to be like them,
I couldn't wait to grow up.
If only I could go back to my youth,
and see the world the way I did,
Maybe then I wouldn't dream of the future,
but just be content to be a child.
